![]() Another move took her back to Utah where, after several more moves, she finally settled in a tiny house of her own in East Carbon where she popped “ THE QUESTION” again. Then, father circumstance struck a final blow. She lived in Okinawa when her husband was stationed there and made friends around the globe. After her husband retired from the military, life finally seemed to be going her way. Her husband had a good civilian job and she got to settle down in Texas in a nice new home of her own. She had her family surrounding her with grandchildren near. She survived poverty living in a campground with five little kids as she pondered “ THE QUESTION.” She moved several times establishing a home for her family in more locations than you can count. She went through the Cuppy Cake stage with each of her children then lived through the terrible two’s and asked herself “ THE QUESTION” on numerous occasions through out her life as a young mother then the mother of teenagers ~sigh!!!!!īarbe spent many exciting and challenging years as a wife of a Marine who served in the Vietnam War and in the Gulf War which rendered her husband disabled. I wish naps were reoccurring throughout your life like “ THE QUESTION” is.Įventually Barbe became the mother of five wonderful children. Looking back in retrospect, I guess that two is an important age because it prepares you to ask “ THE QUESTION” frequently for the rest of your life. I mean it’s like getting spoiled by your parents then getting stuck in a corner after you throw a tantrum to ponder the important questions of the universe like, “How in the heck did I get here?” I wasn’t jealous of the attention being showered upon her I actually felt kind of sorry for her. I didn’t worry too much about it though. By then I knew that my sweet, innocent, unsuspecting baby sister was in for a rude awakening when she became a toddler and entered the world of the terrible two’s. When Barbe was born, my parents entered some weird kind of alternate universe and started singing the Cuppy Cake song:īeing the second oldest child, I had seen this transition in my parents two times before Barbe showed up ~sigh! Barbe Wardle is the fifth of ten children born to Paul and Helen Walgren. ![]()
